After discovering that Angela has watched one of her routines, Erin repeatedly frets about the incident's possible impact - even though Moore has chosen to expose her real-life child to the same sight.Įrin's fellow dancers might have helped illustrate any serious points about stripping that Bergman wanted to make. Erin expresses her self-loathing and queasiness over nude dancing, then the camera ogles her moves. ![]() The movie becomes a case study of having your cake and jumping out of it, too. Like the sleazy judge who awarded Angela to her father, Bergman must think Erin's occupation indicates - at least to prospective audiences - questionable mothering skills, because he feels the need to insert some gooey reaffirmation of the mother-daughter bond every few minutes. More blatant heart-tugging is done to establish Erin's love for Angela, played by Moore's and husband Bruce Willis' real-life daughter Rumer. ![]()
